Pentecost Novena 2020
Holy Spirit Novena — 2020    In preparation for the Feast of Pentecost, a celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Church, please join with our community in praying the Holy Spirit Novena! It is a powerful and moving novena that is meant to help us open ourselves to the third person of the Holy Trinity. A novena is a prayer for nine days. This practice of praying a novena reaches back to the earliest days of Christianity when the apostles and those gathered in the Upper Room waited and prayed for the Father’s promise. It was nine...

Taize Prayer - May 14th at 7:00 pm
Check in on Facebook Live for an evening of Taize Prayer on Thursday, May 14 at 7pm. Emily Banks will lead us in this simple and meditative way to pray with music and scripture. A great way to quiet the anxieties of our minds and focus on having a conversation with God. The distinguishing marks of Taize Prayer include repetition and silence. Repetition is not a new phenomenon nor unique to TaizĂ©. The use of repetitive prayers is a long attested reality in the history of Christian spirituality and liturgy (for example, in the Jesus Prayer and the Rosary). Wha...

In Memory of...
Stained glass windows leave an impression. They are lifelike images that are hand painted on glass. We appreciate the colorful windows and the pictures remind us of stories about our Christian faith, guardian angel protecting a child and the Good Shepherd with a sheep across his shoulder. Occasionally the old windows create a curiosity. Such is the case in our school library, now a library but first it was a chapel for students when the school was built in 1919. The names on the windows are “In Memory of” Ralph Edward Boschert and Albert F. Ell.  &nbs...

Our Lady of Fatima Novena
Our Lady of Fatima is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1917, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. They were Lucia Santos, Blessed Jacinta Marto and Blessed Francisco Marto. Our Lady appeared to the children seven times and performed a miracle making the sun dance in the sky, which thousands of people witnessed. She told the children to say the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world and the end of war. This is why Our Lady of Fatima is also called Our Lady of the Rosary. She also requested us to pray the following prayer at the end...

Has this ever happened before?  Can anyone ever remember a year when All Saints didn't have an Annual Parish Picnic?!!!  This year has seen the first of many things and the cancelling of our picnic is just one more.  We will all miss it - the community working together, seeing our friends, the fun and the laughter, bidding at the auction,  the fried chicken dinner, the rides, the music, the game booths, ice cream, funnel cakes, hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, and the great anticipation of maybe, just maybe, finally winning the g...

Divine Mercy Chaplet

Posted on May 01, 2020 in: Prayer and Worship

Divine Mercy Chaplet
"Let no soul fear to draw near to me." Todd Mesler Jr. composed a musical arrangement of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. It was livestreamed on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19, 2020. You can listen to the sung prayer here: https://youtu.be/G-76rhJTxG8 The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a beautiful prayer given to St. Faustina. It can be prayed any time, but it is especially celebrated on Divine Mercy Sunday. Where did this practice come from, and why do we celebrate it on the second Sunday of Easter? The instruction came directly from Jesus himself. In the 1...
