Lenten Bible Study

Lenten Bible Study

As we anticipate the beginning of another Lenten season, perhaps some familiar questions arise for you. Why was Jesus the Lamb of God? Why did he have to die? How did his death fulfill Old Testament messianic prophesies? Join us on Wednesday nights beginning March 13 for No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion. Filmed on location in the Holy Land, this 5 week series explores 4 days that changed the world. Learn about the “biblical minefields” buried in the Gospel texts, explore the significance of bits of the Passion narrative that don’t seem to make sense, see how the crucifixion details tied to OT prophecies despite being influenced by contemporary Jewish and Roman practices, and more. Meetings run from 6:45-8:15 pm in the Annex 0, in RM#2. Study materials, consisting of a study workbook and a companion book to the video series, cost $24.95/person, and the parish will take care of ordering them for you. Note that all participants must sign up by February 28 so we have time to order materials and schedule an appropriate size room. To sign up or for more information, call Tom Schultz at 636-294-4465.
