Mission Statement: Show support for the people living in the Toledo District of Belize, to fight poverty, facilitate economic empowerment, and promote human dignity; provide educational and medical equipment, small business loans, high school scholarships, clean water solutions, medical care, and community improvements.

Parishioners are encouraged to participate in this ministry in a variety of ways:

Volunteer Opportunities in Missouri

Duties: Work at fundraising events and/or donating items to be delivered by mission trip participants; prepare shipments of supplies for Belize.

Special Skills: Willing to shop fo ritems needed in Belize and work events:  Soup Sales for scholarships in February, Shopping as Jesus Would collection in October, Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser in November; good organization for sorting and packing. 

Mission Opportunity in Belize

Duties: Assist with education and construction projects in annual mission trips in January and June each year.

Time Commitment:  10 day trip to Belize, several meetings in preparation for travel.

Approximate Cost:  $1,500

Special Skills: Excellent physical condition, able to move about quickly without assistance, able to tolerate humid climate, capable of adapting to changes and willing to help with any tasks.  Able to distribute donatins and assist teachers working with elementary school children OR handy on a constructin site performing both light duty and/or heavy duty tasks such as measuring, painting, or pouring concrete.
